Contract Renewal: Yaya Toure Signs New Contract.

Yaya Toure Signing His 45 Million Pounds Contract

Yaya Toure has agreed a new four years contract with the current Champions, Manchester City. Yaya who joined his brother Kolo from Barcelona, in the summer of 2010 for £24m had grown frustrated for lack of progress in contract negotiation. His agent, Dimitri Seluk went on record to say the player may move on, this summer. This prompted the defending Champions to quickly move to complete negotiations after the international break and confirmed an agreement had been reached. His new £45m contract will keep him at the Etihad till 2017.
Yaya Toure has vowed to lead another assault on the Barclays Premier League next Season. The 29- year- old midfielder finally put pen to paper on a deal worth more than £200,000 a week to remain the highest paid African footballer. The raining African footballer of the year believe Roberto Mancini men would make up for their disappointing title defence by coming back much stronger next season.
“This is where I want to be,” said the Ivorian. “When I first arrived at City, every time I went to sleep I would dream about us winning something; now it is about us being the best team in whatever competition we take part in.”
“I will never forget how I have been treated here by the fans; the club and the owners and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to finish my career as a Manchester City player.”
Both brothers would be part of the city squad that will travel to Old Trafford on Monday night to face United, who currently sits at the top of the English Premiership with 15 points. Manchester City’s hope of retaining the premier league look slim, but could reduce the deficit in Monday’s derby.
Yaya Toure was instrumental to the title winning side of 2012, which came back from an eight points deficit to winning the trophy. However, the opportunity of finishing second and winning an FA Cup medal for the second time means he has got another arduous task up his sleeves.
